Nambooka - aka Bea Edwards

 

Nambooka, aka Bea Edwards, is a descendant from the Pyemmairrener tribe Tasmania.

Having had a grandmother who taught her basketry, fibre arts and painting, Nambooka continues the Aboriginal tradition, where her work follows the flora and fauna, nature, spirituality, and indigenous development.

Her designs are distinctive, unique, original, and authentic. They are strikingly bold and deceptively simple, with the accompaniment of dreamtime stories handed down through the generations

Bea wears many hats from Artistry, Mother, Aboriginal Community D&A Worker, Teacher, Consultant, as well as being a household name in quilting and craft circles
